About Jesus Steve Sweetman Let Him Continue To Be Vile "Let him who does wrong, continue to do wrong; let him who is vile continue to be vile; let him who does right continue to do right; and let him who is holy continue to be holy." (Rev. 22:11) At first glance the above verse seems a little strange. Why would our Lord tell anyone to continue to be vile and continue to do wrong? Why doesn't He tell these people to repent. This may be a hard question to answer but I believe that there will come a time that we should simply let the unrighteous be unrighteous. If that is how they want to live, let them live that way. But for those of us who want to be holy, let us be holy. God Himself in history past has let people be unholy, and has given them over to do what they want to do, no matter how bad it may be. (Rom. 1:26) Our North American society is in the midst of major change. We are fast moving away from any Christian influence we might have once had. An example is the debate over same sex marriage. We may be soon legally changing the definition of the word family. We should try our best to stop this movement towards unrighteousness, yet if we can't, we should let these people be unrighteous. But on the other hand we should be righteous, and society should let us be righteous. But whether society lets us be righteous or not , we must be righteous. Take the same sex marriage issue again. If our society moves to allow same sex marriage based on "human rights", then by the same standard society should allow Christian ministers not to marry same sex people without any legal action taken against them. Let the righteous have the same human right standard as their defense. Let those people be unrighteous. Let others do wrong, yet at the same time, let us do what we believe is right.
