When speaking of discipleship many people think that part of
discipleship is being encouraged, corrected, taught, and admonished among
other things by the one discipling you. Yet let me suggest that much of
these things simply come about by being properly joined to others in the
Body of Christ.
When I speak of being "joined", I am not speaking of being
joined to a church organization or a group. I am speaking about being
joined to people, even if they are not part of the same church
organization as you are. Remember, the Body of Christ is more than your
particular denomination.
It has been my great privilege over the last 35 years to be joined to a
certain few very good and close brothers who can, and has encouraged me,
corrected me, admonished me, and all the rest that goes along with such
things.
So when thinking of these things you should not restrict them to a
discipleship situation. They come mostly through being properly joined to
others in the Body of Christ.
